* You, the public, who testified at, and wrote letters to, the City Council on December 7, 2005

* Mayor Mufi Hannemann, Council Chair Donovan Dela Cruz, Councilmember Barbara Marshall, and the other City Council members for leading the City toward the new settlement

* The City Council Members in 2005 who voted 9-0 to reject the first proposal settlement that would have divided and privatized the Valley

* The City Council Members of 2001 who voted to bring the condemnation action and put $5.1 million in public funds into the court's escrow account

* The National Audubon Society, which has managed the Valley since 2002 under difficult conditions, committed to the Council on December 7, 2005 to find the bridge financing needed, and has now committed to raising $1 million as its share of the settlement fund (President John Flicker, Vice President Les Corey, and Honolulu Counsel Ken Kupchak)

* The United States Army Garrison Hawaii, which committed to providing $3.5 million from the Environmental Division's Compatible Use Buffer fund, represented by Colonel Howard Killian, Commander, and Joel Godfrey, Chief, Environmental Division

* The Trust for Public Lands, Josh Stanbro, Hawaii Project Manager, for facilitating the Army's contribution

* The Office of Hawaiian Affairs, which contributed $2.9 million, represented by Clyde Namuo, Administrator, and Trustee Haunani Apoliona, Chairperson, and also Trustees John Waihe`e IV, Rowena Akana, Dante Carpenter, Donald Cataluna, Linda Keawe`ehu Dela Cruz, Colette Y. Machado, Boyd P. Mossman, and Oswald Stender

* Governor Linda Lingle and the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, represented by Director Peter Young, for its $1.6 million contribution

* Representative Michael Magaoay, whose district includes the North Shore of O`ahu, for supporting the community at every step and for introducing legislation to support State acquisition of the Valley

* State Senator Bobby Bunda, who represents the North Shore, for suporting the community's clear vision for full protection of Waimea Valley

* Senator Fred Hemmings, for supporting the community through his radio show

* Representative Brian Schatz, for suggesting that State Legacy funds be used to aquire the Valley
